Win A Helicopter Ride With London's Air Ambulance Charity Fun-Run

London's Air Ambulance is looking for runners to take part in its charity 5km fun-run on 18 September. Anyone can take part, and there will be a very special prize for one lucky fund-raiser.

The event in Regent's Park is designed for runners of all abilities and ages. Fancy dress is encouraged. The wearer of the best costume will win an early morning flight in the helicopter and a tour of the helipad above the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

The air ambulance saves hundreds of lives every year, with the team attending an average of seven incidents each day. This is the really serious stuff – shootings, stabbings, motor accidents. The service is a charity and relies upon donations and fundraising events, so do get involved in the fun run if you're able.

Entry is £14 (covering the cost of a running vest, water bottle, timing chip and medal). The fancy-dress winner will get to fly from the helicopter's overnight base in Denham airfield to the Whitechapel pad, in time for the start of the morning shift.

To get a taster, see our photo tour of the pad.
