Last Saturday, London bloggers Ian from Ian Visits and Tom from Tired of London, Tired of Life took a pair of Boris bikes to Paris by Eurostar. Sometimes the bikes get tired of living in the smoke and smog of Zone 1, and that's why the bloggers decided to take two lucky cycles on a grand day out.
The bikes stretched their wheels on a tour of some of the major Parisian locations, taking in the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame, among others. They caught the attention of locals and Brits abroad, with a French family stopping the riders to ask where they could hire them, and a holidaying Londoner riding over to underline how much better the Boris Bikes were than the Parisian Vélib bikes, the city's own cycle hire scheme.
Indeed, at the end of the day, it was hard to drag one of the bikes back to the station, as he had fallen in love with a bike from the French scheme (see photos). But he eventually was convinced, not wanting to miss the Boris Bike scheme extension, or next year's Olympic Games. A full write-up of the trip, and more photographs can be seen over at Ian Visits.
