We've seen a fair few projects over the years that compare old and new photographs of London. A new website and exhibition carries on the tradition, but brings the idea into more tangible times by pairing images from the 1980s with shots from 2011.
Urban photographer Berris Conolly built up an archive of black and white photos of Hackney in the 1980s. Now, Alex Pink has recreated some of the shots. A few of the comparisons can be seen over on the Hackney Revisited site and an exhibition of more shots opens at Chats Palace in Homerton from 3 September.
It's a timely project, given the many comparisons with the 1980s currently being bandied about on news reports.
