Flooding Hits South London Train Services

A burst water main near South Croydon station yesterday has caused a landslide onto the track affecting train services in the area.

South Croydon and Purley Oaks stations are closed and the Gatwick Express was suspended yesterday. Although it's now resumed, it's running at 30 minute intervals and any passengers heading for the airport should expect delays.

Commuter services between London and Brighton are also affected, which is as good excuse as any to stay beside the seaside, especially when temperatures of up to 29 degrees are forecast for London today.

Visit National Rail Enquiries for further updates and timetable information.
