Friday: Help Map the City with artist Joanna Walsh at Aviva Square, EC3 between 1-5pm.

Catch free commuter music courtesy of City of London Festival at Liverpool Street Station, 5.30pm as the Wilson Pickers showcase their modern folk from the other side of the world.

Saturday: Get to the riverside walkway at Kingston to watch Kingston Regatta from 9am-7pm (Sunday too), free.

The Pop-Up Festival of Stories sets up in Coram Fields and the Brunswick Centre all weekend with lots of free and cheap storytelling themed activities.

Join Lewisham People's Day in Mountsfield Park between noon-8pm, free.

It's London Youth Dance Weekend at the Scoop, More London with a whole bunch of free, open air performances between noon-6pm (and Sunday).

Acton Carnival procession winds up in Acton Park for an afternoon of family fun till 7pm. £2 adults, kids free.

De Beauvoir Square Gardens hosts Party in the Park with free family entertainment between 2-5pm.

There's free live music and dance in Kilburn Grange Park for Kilburn Festival between 1-7pm.

Sunday: Join the Thames21 Harrow Canal Clean Up, SE28 at 10am.

Enjoy jazz on Newington Green plus victoriana, stalls and other fun stuff. Free between 11am-4.30pm.

Celebrate the 60th anniversary of St John's Waterloo with a 1950s themed community fete in the church grounds between 2-5pm, free admission.

Drop into the Royal Society Summer Science Live exhibition at Carlton House Terrace and join a discussion about talking primates at 3pm. Free admission.

Monday: Riamba play latin rhythms outside the National Theatre from 6pm, part of Watch This Space festival.

Tuesday: Discuss the Milibands at the LSE free public lecture from 6.30pm at Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House, Houghton Street WC2.

Wander through Cleary Garden, Great St Helen’s Churchyard and Finsbury Circus Gardens and see Flock – a free alfresco art installation created by young and old residents of Southwark, Islington and Tower Hamlets.

Wednesday: Join the free open Architecture Workshop at South Kilburn Studios from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

Thursday: Remember the Golden Girls sitcom? Shoreditch's Book Club hosts a night of nostalgia for Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia with Golden Girls Night. Dress up like a Miami pensioner. £5 in advance, 7.30pm-2am.
