London’s Cabaret Zingers: 26-31 July

This week sees a metric shedload of Edinburgh previews, the start of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern's Hot August Fringe and more great supperclub cabaret than you can shake a rather big stick at so with zip, zero and zilch further ado, here are our Zingers for this week.

Zinger Of The Week: La Reve @ Cafe De Paris, Friday

La Reve continue to provide excellent and reasonably-priced cabaret every Friday but the bill this week is a complete corker. It includes comedic chanteuse Sarah-Louise Young, outstanding aerialist Bret Pfister, Gallic comedian Marcel Lucont, dapper boylesker Count Adriano Fettucini, fiery burlesquer Kitty Bang Bang, the clown-queen herself Audacity Chutzpah and dance duo the Bee's Knees. Go.

Tuesday's Zinger: For the next five weeks, Tuesday night is Wotever Sex night down at the RVT. Expect high-class titillation tonight with pornographer Del LaGrace Volcano, ex-pornographer Yoskhi Greenberg and queen of vintage porn, ArtWank!'s Ophelia Bitz. Keep your hands where we can see them.

Wednesday's Zingers: Pull up a pew at the CellarDoor to see the most erotically-charged communistas in town who will be playing one of their last gigs before they head up north with new show The Revolution Will Be Sexual.

Go see the very funny Tricity Vogue. She's as blue in the face as a phalanx of phone-hacking victims and tonight she'll be at the RVT with her latest Fringe production The Blue Lady Sings Back.

If you enjoyed watching the really rather gallant goings-on at the Chap Olympiad, we recommend turning up to the New Diorama Theatre where the prim and proper ladies and gents of The Fitzrovia Radio Hour will be also be previewing their Edinburgh effort.

Thurday's Zingers: Last week's Zinger Of The Week The Boom Boom Club is back in the Old Vic Tunnels for another three nights of prime cabaret. In short, we loved it. Some tickets remain at the time of writing but be quick about it.

Over in the Queen Of The Suburbs, you can watch more than the time disappear at Conjuring at the Court , West Ealing’s long-running monthly magic night which this month welcomes Penn & Teller fooler Graham Jolley, ventriloquist John Kimmons, Steve Price and Martyn James.

The Tiger Lilies need no introduction (ok, maybe just one). Fans of these cabaret veterans should pitch up outside the Soho Theatre to see their new show Soho Songs (Low Life Lullabies).

Friday's Zingers: Londonist favourites Robin & Partridge are previewing their Edinburgh show tonight Worlds Collide at the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. Expect exquisite silliness and shadowplay.

Float like a butterfly, "sing" like Milli Vanilli: master mimers The LipSinkers are at the RVT tonight.

Saturday's Zingers: The Pale Blue Door (£35) is back for the summer than happy to provide cabaret entertainment alongside a 4-course meal including beetroot, basil, beef and (half a) bottle of wine, all at a secret location in deepest, darkest HipstervilleDalston.

Old school American juggling troupe, The Flying Karamazov Brothers don’t fly, are definitely not Russian and are not brothers but they are at the Vaudeville Theatre until September 10 (£29.50-£39.50). We liked.

Sunday's Zingers: Go for a walk. Read a book. Look up an old friend. Or do something different instead.
