Different Pasts, Shared Futures: Arhag Photography Competition

Taking the theme of this year's Refugee Week as their starting point, ARHAG Housing Association have launched a photography competition seeking images inspired by 'Different Pasts, Shared Futures'.

ARHAG provides housing and support for refugee and migrant communities housing people in more than 700 homes across 12 London boroughs. Their partner, Zoom In, is a brilliant operation based in Oval which offers photography workshops and training courses and a huge community education programme making photography accessible to all.

So they have exactly the right sort of people primed to judge submission which - in the spirit of Refugee Week - should illustrate and celebrate the contributions refugees bring to the UK.

The competition is open to anyone, and photos can be taken on any device; with a compact digital camera, fancy pants DSLR job or a mobile phone. What's important is your interpretation of the theme.

Prizes include a £100 voucher, 15 places on a photography workshop run by Zoom-In photography and the chance to exhibit at Arhag’s annual tenants’ conference in October 2011.

To enter:
- Join the competition Flickrpool at flickr.com/groups/arhagphotocomp
- Add your photos to the group before the 15 August 2011
- Tag your photos arhagphotocomp
