Remember this minimalist fellow? Similar humanoids can be found all over the east end, with a few excursions into other parts of town (map).
The distinctive figures are the work of street artist Stik (interview). His new studio show opens at LAVA gallery in Kingly Court on 27 May. Street art is rarely as exciting in a controlled space as 'in the wild', but the show does offer the opportunity to view some large, close-up images by the artist and maybe bag your own canvas.
The show runs 27 May-4 June at LAVA Gallery, 1.11 Kingly Court, Carnaby Street. Entrance is free. A preview (open to anyone) takes place on 26 May, 6.30pm-9pm.
