Music Choice: 4-10 April

This week sees more than its fair share of collaborations, so attention deficit amongst us need not worry — if a solo set just won't do, or a standard two to three band line-up just won't satisfy, you've got options:

Tonight, sometime Libertine Carl Barat is doing his solo thing at Koko.

Tuesday, California Garage band Dum Dum Girls are at Dingwalls. Support comes from Mazes. Meanwhile, Brighton supergroup Bad for Lazarus is at the Macbeth.

Wednesday, Danish synthrock band Turboweekend bring all of their blips to the Borderline. If you prefer more organic sounds, Chloe Charles is at the Garage.

It's been ten years since the launch of the first Manchester Aid to Kosovo album, and the organisation is celebrating with another album. The release party for Ten is Thursday at Union Chapel, and includes performances by Badly Drawn Boy, Jim Noir, Liam Frost, and 'special guests'.

Friday, solo artists Samantha Marais and Henry Dingle release their own albums but are performing together as Sam and Henry. They kick off the weekend at Betsy Trotwood.

For dance and discourse, the East End is your place this weekend when Dazed Live (presented by Dazed and Confused) takes over five venues for talks about art and music. Musicians include Gang Gang Dance, Aidan Moffat, and Factory Floor. Visit their website for more info and the full line-up.

The philanthropic spirit continues on Sunday with a benefit for Japan at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen with Bo Ningen and Comanechi.
