London Burlesque Week opened on the good ship President, moored on the Thames near Blackfriars Bridge, rather the good ship Venus which might have been more appropriate.

The crowd was a mix of regular cabaret enthusiasts and some curious newcomers, who witnessed some of the finest in burlesque performances as well as sheer glamour and tastefully risqué entertainment. The Festival is now in its 5th year and helps develop the most talented new and established performers, right through from avant garde to erotic, sexy circus artists, novelty acts, classic and new strip tease. Read our interview with organiser, Chaz Royale to find out more.

If you are lucky enough to get a ticket to any of the shows make sure you dress to impress, lest you feel the odd one out.
