The inaugural KETTLE® Ridge Crisps Dodgem Derby took place on Saturday and saw 6 competition winners take to the roads, in a rally from Wallop to London led by ex Stig Ben Collins.

Fully kitted out in their KETTLE® Ridge Crisps driving gear, the mission was to put some extra Wallop into Britain which began at one of Europe’s fastest race circuits at Thruxton where each driver got behind the wheel of their dodgem for the first time. Old habits die hard as Collins gave a crash-course in dodgem driving before they all got to grips with the track.

Leaving Thruxton as expert dodgem handlers, the fleet was ready to line up at the start line in Wallop where glamour girl Amii Grove added more wallop still as she waved them off: the KETTLE® Ridge Crisps Dodgem Derby was GO, GO, GO!

Activities throughout the Derby included:
· Wheel changing skills
· Potato Cricket
· Paintballing
· Go-karting

The final leg of the journey brought the fleet to Battersea Park in London after an epic day of driving, where the final scores were announced and trophies presented. While Team Flamed Steak won with a walloping 44 points, the dodgem was given to the runners up Sarah and Claire representing Team Salt & Malt Vinegar.

To round off with some derby statistics there were 78 miles, 8 helmets, 7 pit stops, 6 competition winners, 5 mechanics, 4 dodgems, 3 counties, 2 race circuits, 1 sack of potatoes, 1 Glamour Girl, 1 ex Stig and a lifetime’s supply of crisps!

All in all the first ever KETTLE® Ridge Crisps Dodgem was a resounding success. Let's hope it returns next year!
