On this equally loved and hated holiday, might we recommend a nice outing, whether for yourself, some platonic company, or your special somone? If nothing else, use tonight to plan the rest of your week:
Tonight, former Arab Strap man Aidan Moffat is solo at Bush Hall. In the spirit of the holiday, why not check out his Agony Uncle column at the Quietus?
Tuesday, hard rockers the Smoking Hearts are at the Bowery. The name may be in keeping with our romantic theme, but expect something a bit shouty.
Wednesday, new wave-inspired Aussie rocker Sparkadia launches his new single, "Mary," at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen.
Thursday, eccentric folk rock combo Our Mountain is at Water Rats. Or, if you want to take things in a slightly more adventurous direction, experimental rockers Anathema are at Scala.
You can catch Our Mountain again at Old Blue Last on Friday. If you'd rather relive some early Naughties emo, Good Charlotte are at Roundhouse with Four Year Strong.
Saturday, get a taste of Americana from a London perspective with Piney Gir Country Roadshow at Space.
