LOCOG has announced that Royal College of Art postgraduate students will design the podia to be used in all 2012 Victory Ceremonies as well as the the costumes for the "Presenter Escorts, Athlete Escorts and Medal and Flower Bearers" with accompanying flower holders and trays.
Whilst we'd like to rely on some art student stereotypes and imagine them dressing escorts in gender curious outfits a la "Beautiful Freaks" or attempting to express the true spirit of the Olympic boroughs embodied in a tray (fished out the River Lea, perhaps), we're sure that simple and beautiful designs will emerge from the RCA which promises, "truly international designs for the most global of events".
