Those in the Balham area will know Ritherdon Road as one of London’s prettiest shopping streets, and one of the few where independent retailers still rule the roost.
Tomorrow there’s an extra incentive to pop by, as the shops and local businesses will be collaborating on the Ritherdon Road Christmas Street Party. Look out for stalls of vintage fashion, furniture and antiques amongst the regulars, plus live music, carol singing, mulled wine, mince pies and a sprinkling of festive community spirit.
Businesses involved include local (by name and nature) Italian eatery Locale, which is certainly worth popping into for a pizza or bite to eat from their unique Josper Oven; Thorold Wines, who’ll be leading some tutored wine tastings; and a charitable appearance from the Balham Rotary Club.
Could be a good excuse to get some Christmas shopping done, too.
The street party starts from 11am all along Ritherdon Road.
