Dean Nicholas Mayoral Poll Puts Boris Nine Points Ahead

1009_mayor.jpg A poll carried out by ComRes and commissioned by ITN, the Standard, and LBC gives Boris Johnson a nine-point lead over Ken Livingstone, at 44% to 35%, with the Conservative beating his Labour opponent in every single age group; indeed, the sole area that Ken outscores Boris is inner London. The poll was carried out over 27th - 29th September. There's a long way to go before the election, of course, and the survey lacked any Liberal Democrat candidate (Lembit Öpik , say) to leach potential voters off either frontrunner, but the poll does highlight the gap Ken needs to close if he's to stand a chance of re-election.
