Comedy Preview: Stand Up For Depression @ Union Chapel

standupfordepression.png If you want to see stellar comedy line-ups you should keep an eye open for benefit gigs. The one drawback is the price (yes, yes, charity and all that) so here's a gig for the princely sum of £17.50 (plus booking fee) raising money for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, which aims to raise awareness of and get help for young people with depression. Oh, and did we mention Tim Minchin and Daniel Kitson?

You'd have to shell out £44 to see Minchin alone at the 02 Arena, and the Union Chapel's a much more intimate space to hear the eyelinered Australian's songs of geekery and self-deprecation. Also on the bill are Jonny Sweet, whose previous Edinburgh show we loved, playwright and stand-up Tom Basden and rising star Sanderson Jones - all compered by the sublime Daniel Kitson. Seriously: cheap at twice the price.

Stand Up For Depression at the Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, Islington, on Friday 15th October at 7.45pm. We might already have mentioned the ticket price of £17.50 + booking fee.
