Yes, the views from Paramount are phenomenal (truly stunning actually) but how's their new morning menu? Invited by to give the restaurant's new breakfast and brunch menu a tasting, Londonist left pleased to have taken the lift up to the stylish top of Centre Point for a filling Saturday brunch and a look see from their top floor viewing gallery.
Smoked haddock and lentil chowder with lemon oil (£8.50) started things off nicely and five spice monkfish with saffron risotto and crab spring roll (£22.50) was divine (well, the spring roll was just okay and not really necessary). Eggs benedict with bacon (£7) was to an acceptable standard and very good value for money. We were too stuffed for puds but glad to sip some dry and minerally Grüner Veltliner 2008 (£6.25/£25.00). Obligatory coffees and an especially spicy Virgin Mary weren't bad either.
Paramount is located on the 32nd floor of Centre Point, 101-103 New Oxford Street, WC1A 1DD where brekkie is now on Monday to Friday from 8am to 10.30am with brunch served on Saturday 11.30am to 3pm. Visit www.paramount.uk.net/#/restaurant/ for more info.
