The Experimental Food Society collective is about bringing together and showing off the UK’s most creative culinary crazies, many of whom have become quite well known on the London foodie scene. Members include Jellymongers Bompas & Parr, the fun but not really that rebellious Rebel Dining Society and the pop-up restaurant that can’t stay still, the Rambling Restaurant.

This Saturday, comes the highly trailed first Experimental Food Society Spectacular. Said gastromentalists be taking over The Brickhouse on Brick Lane for the day and putting on a wacky exhibition the likes of which you’re unlikely to have seen before bar in some substance fuelled hallucination.

Highlights include margarine sculpting, melon carving, edible clothes, a suckling pig cake, a colour changing cocktail, a giant chocolate painting of the queen (let’s hope she doesn’t melt), a jelly-themed appearance from Bompas & Parr and plenty more where that came from. Be aware that consumption of this lot is likely to result in indigestion.

The exhibition runs from 11am - 5pm. Tickets are £5 and available at www.experimentalfoodsociety.com.
