Swedish born designer Simon Ekrelious tends to take his inspiration from post-modern architecture and, being London based, it was Norman Foster's iconic tower, 30 St Mary's Axe', aka The Gherkin, that he looked to for his latest collection. His use of a variety of textiles, including organza and plastic, helped create structural shapes with a futuristic feel and it's not hard to see how he's also been inspired by the glamazonian Grace Jones. Lady Gaga and Alison Goldfrapp are said to be amongst his growing number oif fans.
Strikingly colourful and garish, Henry Holland's latest collection did a good job of recreating the old school glamour of 1970's, disco and New York nightlife. Shimmery, sparkly and bold print fabrics adorned girls with deep St Tropez tans and glossy wavy hair. We liked seeing a glammed-up version of the wooly bobble put in an appearance after all these years but weren't so keen on the trashy 70's housewife look. Pixie Geldof and Nicola Roberts are obviously big fans as they were lapping up the show again this season, but it was Lily Allen and Agnes Deyn who got photographers tripping over their lenses for those front row pics.
