Weekend Round-Up

Here's what we've learned this weekend whilst you've all been at church (synagogue/mosque/temple):

  • WANTED: THIS man in connection with a murder, and THIS man who has absconded from a mental unit.
  • A teenager was shot in Hackney yesterday afternoon.
  • Murder on the Great South West Road: a man has been arrested and charged.
  • Two men are being questioned in London after suspected parcel bombs were sent to MI6.
  • Elena, London's oldest and most venerated maitre d', is being forced to retire.
  • One wonders just how some of our councillors got to be elected: this one in Redbridge is worried that the granting of a park licence will turn it into 'Alton Towers'. Right.
  • In less gloomy news: an old lock is to be reopened to promote waterborne access to the Olympics.
  • We are delighted to report that Rock and Roll is just as badly behaved as ever, as demonstrated by a 30 man brawl in Victoria Park.
  • The organisers of the Notting Hill Carnival are looking for stewards.
  • All Souls Church, by jakem via the Londonist pool.
