Preview: Shoreditch Festival 2010

shoreditchfest2010.jpg Shoreditch Festival pitches up in Shoreditch Park this coming weekend, with music, arts, fireworks, dogs and words trampling the sun scorched grass and diverting the Hoxton massive northwards a notch.

Friday 16th July: Free Proms in the park between 7.30-9.30pm with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra + fireworks!

Saturday 17th July: Arts, dance, Shoreditch Bark Dog Show and Shoreditch Spa, stalls and more, all day in the Park

Sunday 18th July: World In Motion focuses on the kids with live music, dance, spoken word and film

And it's all free. Take sunscreen + the obligatory blanket/picnic.

Away from the baking park there's The Shoreditch Consul: Interactive Guerilla Opera that asks you to bring your own torch - tickets, £10/7.50 (conc for local residents too). And Sunday is World Listening Day with East London Soundscapes; "a music and dance event that seeks to explore, embrace and respond to sounds heard in the East End of London". Book tickets (£10/7.50) and meet at Shoreditch Park ready to discover a secret local location.
