Ritz Sale 'Scammers' In Court

ritz.jpg The three men accused of relieving two businessman of £1m in the ambitious scam to sell the Ritz Hotel are in court this week. Patrick Dolan, Anthony Lee and the aptly-named Conn Farrell allegedly targeted their victims in the sort of con you'd only expect to see on TV drama Hustle. It's claimed that they failed to spot the fact that paying £250m for a building apparently worth up to £600m was, as the old adage goes, too good to be true, though they appeared to have at least smelled a rat when the deposit disappeared and the 'sale' didn't happen. So next time you're offered a landmark building on the cheap by a shady character, save your money - an imprisoned millionaire somewhere in the world may need it to help transfer his entire fortune into your bank account.
