Regardless of any economic uncertainties, here in London the posh just seem to keep getting posher ... and younger too by the looks of the crowd at The Lonsdale's refurb launch held last night.

Under new ownership, the famed cocktail bar (we first heard of its impressive drinks menu from bartenders working at other bars around town) is now a tad swishier for its Notting Hill flock and is to start offering a “comprehensive steakhouse menu” taking advantage of select cuts from the highly esteemed butcher, Allen's of Mayfair. Canapés never seemed to make it round our way yesterday evening, we're sad to say. However, we are glad to report the cocktail menu doesn't seem to have been renovated; still classic quality mixes as far we we could tell while mingling over drinky-poohs (although we were told there is to be a range of low cal options added).

The Lonsdale is located at 48 Lonsdale Road (W11 2DE). Visit it online at www.thelonsdale.co.uk.
