As previously mentioned in our London on the Cheap round-up but worth a second mention in order to have floating kitty kites on the site... Do you like BIKES? Do you like KITES? Do you think it would be totally awesome to enjoy both, at the same time, for FREE? In BLACKHEATH? Because you can, this weekend at the free Bike and Kite Festival in Blackheath!

Organised by Lewisham Council and supported by TfL, this two day event is basically all about bikes and kites: riding them, flying them, buying them, watching them, trying them, enjoying them. There'll be kite-fighting displays, bike stunts, a BMX track for the daredevils to have a go themselves, two-wheeled theatre performances, vintage bikes and their period attired cyclists and kite-making workshops. Cycle surgeries will available throughout both days so bring along any bicycle worries you may have and see if you can get a fix. There will also be arts, crafts and food stalls to keep you occupied between the two-wheeled and aerial bits of the festival.

Bike and Kite Festival, Blackheath - Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June, free entry. For more information, go to the Bike and Kite Festival website.
