Brick Lane Farmers' Market to Open Sunday

As if a summer Sunday stroll around Brick Lane wasn't already chock-a-block with elbow rubbing opportunities and reasons to blow your cash, a new farmers' market is to open this Sunday, the 6th of June, at St Matthais school on Bacon Street and is to be held every Sunday thereafter from 10am to 2pm.

The press release reads “putting the meat back into Bacon Street” but Londonist suspects there'll be plenty of vegetable matter for East End hipsters to stock up on as well. Vendors at the market will be from farms within 100 miles of London. Secondary producers such as jam makers, will be required to use a minimum of 50% local ingredients as well as free range eggs in cakes and such. Visit www.lfm.org.uk/markets/brick-lane for more details and to view the delectably wholesome list of the market's farms and producers.
