Tube Lines Takeover Isn't Halting Strike Action

tubetrain_170510.jpg TfL's takeover of Tube Lines hasn't resolved any of the disputes that were bubbling away. Aslef engineering train drivers on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines are due to walk out this weekend (and again on 29th May), which presumably will mean further line closures to pick up the missed work. Meanwhile, the RMT has started balloting its members over pay and job security. Bob Crow, everyone's favourite union official, said "we do not expect our members to take the hit for the final collapse of the disastrous tube privatisation experiment" (which is fine, but fare-paying customers have been taking it for years). We'll keep you posted. (Image / Andy Wilkes)
