RMT Protest Over East London Line

2405_rmt2.jpg Showing an admirable zeal to dump all over a project that's received near-universal approval, the RMT staged a protest outside Whitechapel station this morning on the first full Monday service of the extended East London line. The union is upset that London Overground is under the control of LOROL, aka London Overground Rail Operations, a foreign-owned company subcontracted to run the line. According to leaflets handed out by protestors, the group are nothing but "fat cats" who want to "bleed it dry", and are calling for the network to be brought into the big, happy, publicly-owned London Underground house, where the likes of equitable RMT boss Bob Crow would have more influence on the new train set.
