Next Thursday, SELFS celebrate London's 'outlaw borough' with a free spring shindig at the Old Mayfair Carpet Gallery on Borough High Street.

Southwark's steeped in stories so expect them spun, sung, scary, hairy, chilling and thrilling courtesy of an all star South London lore line up. John Constable's giving a flavour of the The Southwark Mysteries, being staged at Southwark Cathedral in April (follow the blog). The charming Nigel of Bermondsey will aurally cajole with songs from the Bermondsey Suite. Scott Wood, Richard of Hume, Vanessa Woolf-Hoyle, Niall Boyce and Neil Transpontine all have tales to tell and Mr Roberts is stacking the deck for a few hands of five card Walworth whist.

It's free, it's fun, it's folklory. RSVP on Facebook if you fancy. Thursday 25 March between 6-9ish. Old Mayfair Carpet Gallery, 301-303 Borough High Street, SE1. Bar and interesting stall thing too.
