London Blend: Toasted

Continuing our caffeine-fueled quest to show you some of our favourite coffee shops in London

Feb 2012 update: This cafe is now closed.

Camden may be well known as the armpit of London but recently it has had a resurgence of sorts. New coffee shops, cafes and restaurants are popping up on Parkway. Toasted, a coffee shop chock full of character is a stone’s throw from Regent’s Park and miles away from all the riff raff on Camden High Street.

A true DIY café, Toasted is decorated with old recycled antique furniture and with walls covered with comics, graffiti, maps and original artwork. Serving up a strong Brazilian roast called Santos Dark, Toasted is a truly community oriented coffee shop. Friendly barista Tereza Hejretova says that the shop was a labour of love and it was important to keep everything local. In an old fridge, they keep their book club where you can come in and exchange your old books for a new one. A local woman bakes all their cakes and they get their coffee from a small roaster just around the corner.

If you are looking for something a bit different, this is your spot. The retro board games, quaint garden, and free wifi are just a bonus.

Toasted is at 96 Parkway, NW1 7AN
