With all the sunshine this week we're getting excited about heading outdoors this weekend. Let's face it though, it's still pretty chilly, so meet spring in the middle with a trip to the tropical atmosphere of Kew Garden's Princess of Wales Conservatory. Ending this Sunday, the Tropical Extravaganza festival sees the conservatory brimming with thousands of orchids and tropical plants offering an exploration of the diversity in colour and sizes and why they have evolved such spectacular forms. Alongside the main display, the Waterlily House's usual inhabitants have been replaced with a stunning display of Cymbidium orchids.

Tropical Extravaganza at Kew Gardens finishes on Sunday 7th march, adults £13.50, concessions £11, children free. For more information visit the Kew Gardens website
