Jurors 'Confused' By Law

law courts.jpg A new study by UCL has found that less than a third of jurors understand the law. This doesn't seem all that surprising when you consider it - after all, law is a complex animal riddled with arcane points which even some in the profession would be hard pushed to get their heads around. The study also revealed the more basic human foible of curiosity, with an unspecified number of jurors going online to find out more about the cases they were on. The first jury-free trial was held this year which undoubtedly made things easier for the legal eagles involved; could this be the way forward?
