Thames Airport: Cameron Puts Boris In The Corner

2301_plane.jpg Just days after it was savaged by the local council, Conservative leader David Cameron has effectively ended Boris Johnson's plans for an airport in the Thames estuary by categorically stating that any such plan is not one of his party's priorities. In what amounts to a rebuke (and another twist in the ever-interesting dynamic between the two men), Cameron told BBC South East Today that building airports was "not [the] responsibility" of the mayor, and reiterated his party's commitment to high-speed rail. He also stated once again (in case we'd all forgotten) that the Conservatives remain opposed to building a third runway at Heathrow
