We weren't impressed that some step free access programmes had to be deferred in 2008 for efficiency savings but BBC London just reported that £20m has been wasted by TfL in respect of abortive preparations for 6 stations' step free access. Work to make Amersham, Greenford, Ladbroke Grove, Newbury Park, Osterley and West Kensington fully accessible had already commenced when the plans were entirely scrapped, ironically to save money. So, no improvements to access and £20m down the toilet - anyone care to quantify the efficiency saving for us? (Image / 'Out of Order' by tilman paulin)
