No Double Dose Of NFL Yet

Whilst the Wembley gridiron will be steamrollered by the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos on Halloween, plans for a second match on UK turf this year have been shelved, basically because of the recession.

We've taken the NFL's annual flying visit for an incongruous Wembley fixture to our hearts (well most of us) and it's probably why we made an effort at Thanksgiving last year with the padded shoulders, perfect toothed smiles and massive helmets still lingering in mind from the Patriots' victory over the Buccaneers. 2010 is the final of the first confirmed dates for NFL matches over this side of the pond so, second game or no, let's hope Boris' fawning USA Day plans don't scare off this fun fixture from our sporting calendar altogether. Long may our transatlantic football fancying continue.

We'll bring you news on tickets for this year's game when we have it. Keep an eye on in the meantime.
