Tomorrow, Moti Mahal restaurant in Covent Garden is throwing open their kitchen doors and hosting a Spice Blending class with Head Chef Anirudh Arora. Hailed as India's answer to Heston Blumenthal due to his scientific approach to spice combinations, he'll guide you through the techniques for creating marinades and pastes, followed by an indulgent three-course lunch of rural Indian dishes learnt from his travels along the pan-Indian route, from West Bengal to north India and Afghanistan. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned professional (if you'll pardon the pun), you'll return home with new skills to impress family and friends, armed with your own spice blending starter kit.
The course runs from 10.30am (if you can stomach it) until 3pm. Courses cost £75 per person. If you can't make it at such short notice they're running on the last Saturday of every month throughout the year.
