As if the indignity of a 1-0 loss at home to Wolves yesterday wasn't enough, Tottenham may also have a legal matter to attend to: their Cameroonian defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto is being investigated by police after allegedly clashing with a fan following the final whistle. The incident occurred as players were leaving the field. Eyewitness reports suggest that, after becoming embroiled in a forthright exchange of views with the supporter, who was sitting beside the Tottenham dugout, Assou-Ekotto put his hands around the individual's neck, before assistant boss Joe Jordan intervened and ushered the player away down the tunnel. Spurs have also launched an investigation into the matter.
