Snow Joke: Cold Weather Hits Train Services

The cold weather (including the snow that suddenly went 'whump' over London in the last couple of hours) is having a knock-on effect on the trains. Southeastern are running a Saturday service tomorrow; Southern are running a 'revised' service this evening (and don't bet against something similar tomorrow) and Thameslink warn of short notice cancellations. Weirdly, South West Trains are saying all their problems have been sorted. The National Rail Enquiries website seems to have crashed under the weight of requests as well - try calling on 08457 48 49 50 - as has C2C. The tube seems OK, and we can probably all just be thankful we're not on the continent...

Thameslink on short notice cancellations eh? Thought this is the norm.

Actually, take that back about the tube - Northern line suspended between High Barnet and Camden and a handful of stations closing... delays of an hour on trains through London Bridge reported... station overcrowding in zone 1... jeez, good luck everyone getting home.

For once... I think I would rather be in London. The public transport in the Netherlands has all but stopped for the moment -

Moaning about public transport is a bit of a national hobby in the UK, but by the sounds of things, you've more or less been able to get to where you want to go, throughout the weather disruption. Which is more than can be said for the Netherlands.
