Santa's Lap: London Rat Race Buff

londonratracebuff (Small).JPG Every day until Christmas the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings...

"What's a buff?" we hear you asking in puzzlement. According to the official FAQ, it's from the Spanish bufanda and is a piece of "multifunctional headwear [which] can be worn in a number of different configurations to provide a high level of comfort, protection and style during outdoor and recreational activities." Or, in other words, a cloth tube.

Popular among cyclists and outdoorsy types as a neck and face warmer (among its many functions), we're partial to this design (pictured) from the people behind the London Rat Race which perfectly captures London's skyline and grey skies. And looks a little familiar... hmm, where have we seen that before? Oh there it is, top left! A great gift for the two-wheeled London commuter who complains about getting a frostbitten nose at this time of year.

A pack of 3 London buffs costs £20 from the online Rat Race store.
