Queens Park Rangers Appoint New Manager

0912_qpr.jpg A week after suspending Jim Magilton for reportedly headbutting one of his own players, QPR have installed a new man in the gaffer's chair: Paul Hart, who only a month ago was given the boot from Portsmouth, will take charge until the end of the season. Assistant manager John Gorman also had his contract terminated on Wednesday, and the well-traveled Mick Harford will replace him. Hart inherits a club with bagfuls of cash and a midtable position, just three points from the outskirts of the playoffs but shorn of confidence and without a win in five games. His task will be the same one that the four most recent short-lived managers (average games in charge: 23.75) failed at: to lift the Hoops back to the Premier League, an arena they last graced in 1996.
