Happy birthday to our favourite (and least favourite) West London shopping centre. The Westfield complex in Shepherd's Bush opened its many doors a year ago today. In those 12 months, the centre reportedly attracted over 23 million visitors, 15% more than anticipated by developers. Despite creating local jobs, improving facilities and providing regeneration for the area, nearby residents still have plenty of grumbles, as the BBC reports. Meanwhile, like the second, more-powerful Death Star, an even larger Westfield Centre is taking shape over in Stratford. Image by Dean Nicholas.
