Tickets are still available for the Wimbledon Book Fest, which returns this weekend with a raft of choice events, whatever your literary leanings.
Bit snobbish discerning and only willing to pick up a book if it's been given the shortlisted stamp of approval? Go see Booker shortlister Ahdaf Soueif, Costa shortlister Chris Cleave, Costa winner Sadie Jones or Orange shortlister Kamila Shamsi. Prefer your books biographical, your hardbacks historical? Head for talks with Jon Henderson (on Fred Perry), David Waller (on Getrude Tennant), or Alison Weir (on Ann Boleyn). Darwin enthusiasts, meanwhile, can continue their 2009 celebrations with the festival's own book lovers' spin on the anniversary festivities, with conversations with Darwin's great-great granddaughters the novelist Emma Darwin and poet Ruth Padel; The Voyage of the Beagle author James Taylor; and John Murray VI, descendant of the publishers of The Origin of Species.
Other Londonist picks include credit crunch poetry (Merton Poets, 3 October, 7pm, Wimbledon Library) and Don't Shoot the Critic, on the future of professional criticism (with Telegraph classical music blogger Michael White, 3 October, 6pm, 3 Marryat Rd).
Just goes to show that it's not just its tennis aces that Wimbledon serves up well.
