Meet Lauren Luke, Makeup Maven

From the inauspicious surroundings of her South Shields bedroom, Lauren Luke has become an internet sensation. Her online video guides on how to trowel on the slap have been seen more than 50 million times, and have led her into a lucrative make-up career and glowing profiles in the pages of Time magazine and Vanity Fair, as well as adulation in New York and other fashion capitals. The spoils of online fame usually include a publishing deal, and Luke is no different: she'll be in London today for the launch of her eponymously-titled first book. Head down to the WHSmith branch on the lower ground floor of Selfridges, Oxford Street, at 1pm today and meet her in person.
