Pimping her autobiography at Waterstones Piccadilly yesterday afternoon, X-Factor crooner Leona Lewis was attacked by a member of the public. The 6'5" assailant managed to land a direct blow on Lewis' temple, before security bundled him to the ground and whisked the pop star away; a pretty sour turn of events, and one compounded by the mildly ironic fact that this slapping was delivered as Lewis was about to launch her new single, 'Happy'. Despite reassuring fans that she's fine, Lewis is said to be quite shaken up, and a promotional tour to Germany has been cancelled, though it's to be hoped one man's moment of sheer idiocy doesn't affect the homecoming gig scheduled for November. So was this a random attack by a lunatic, a case of 'tall poppy syndrome', or something more sinister?
