Following Clement's June resignation over dodgy expenses (to recap: lunches with people who say they weren't there, a sound system and flight upgrades), he's now been charged with five counts of fraud over those lunches. Oops. Clement is "surprised and saddened" that the CPS chose to, er, uphold the law over what he apparently views as a piffling £227, but the former Tory leader of Bexley council should know how important probity in public office is. Anyway, he's back in court next Tuesday. We wonder if Kit Malthouse is now regretting his claims about City Hall having their "hand on the tiller" at the Met? (Image / Matt From London)
