The Kooks to Play 'Secret' Gig

Lukooks0809.jpg We're not sure what part of 'secret' a secret gig is when we get a press release asking us to write a news story about it, but if you like The Kooks, you'll be pleased to hear the scruffy ones are playing one such gig this Friday night in West London. The bad news is that no tickets are available in advance, so it's first come first served with £15 payable on the door. Venue details are a little sketchy with it described as a 'urban space underneath the Westway' next to Portobello Market and the Public Library. The whole thing is in a joint celebration of Joe Strummer's birthday and the closing of Mick Jones' Rock & Roll Public Library endeavor which shuts the following week. Doors from 6pm, with all money to charity.

I think I speak for everybody when I say that I can't think of anybody more worthy of the title of heir to Joe Strummer than Luke Pitchard.

Hmm... could the secret gig be here?
