Camden Fringe Review: Fleshpro Comedy Impro/A Dave and Dave Show

DaveDave.jpg Another day another sweltering sold out Fringe night. Undeterred by our dud lucky dip earlier in the week we headed out again for another evening of Fringe Festival, Camden style.

First up at The Camden Head was Fleshpro Comedy Impro where two teams of three performers and their compere impro-ved their way through a selection of games. The audience participated in setting the scene by providing a scenario whilst the players entwined comedy and competition to provide the laughs with entertaining results. Highlight was the 'stand, lean, sit' game which involved two players from one team and an antagoniser from the other trying to catch their opponents out by forcing them to change their position so that at any one time each player was either sat, stood or leaning. Definitely one to try at home with friends after a few beers!

Over at Etcetera 'A Dave and Dave Show', entertained a packed out crowd with their sit-com style comedy show about a couple of housemates and their struggle to find love and pay the rent. The show was narrated by the spectacular Uncle Brian Beloved and included some inventive costume changes as one of the Dave's transformed between hapless in love housemate, children's book publisher, Uncle Brian and Urine Bender the lothario who can bend forks with his mind. An interesting use of wigs and some unintentional cock-ups including a collapsing chair added to the comedy value!

The Camden Fringe runs until 30th August. For more information, go to the Camden Fringe website.
