The BBC are reporting chaotic scenes at Upton Park, where scuffles involving brick- and bottle-throwing have broken out between West Ham and Millwall fans. One eye-witness describes the scene as the 'worst hooliganism he had seen in 30 years'. More news from the Carling Cup fixture as it happens.

20:50 Sky News report that one man has been stabbed in the chest outside the ground in Priory Road. Upton Park Tube station is currently closed.

21.00 Violence is still ongoing 'in pockets', according to Sky reporter. Police believe the clashes were 'organised' rather than spontaneous.
