It's not just Hyde Park that lends itself to amazing music gigs once summer rolls round. East London's very own Victoria Park does a fine job of bringing the beats Hackney way and after the success of Madstock, this Friday sees uber DJ Tiësto turning the park into a gigantic dancefloor. While we might be used to seeing bands rocking Viccy Park, Tiësto is the first DJ to do so. Whether East London's finest grassy space is ready for some full on raving remains to be seen, but reports of Tiësto's show including a hologram of the DJ himself warming up the crowd for the real deal, suggest there will be fun to be had whatever happens. The fun kicks off at 4pm with London's very own Hadouken before sassy Australian pop starlets Sneaky Sound System slink their way through the 'fingers crossed' sunshine! Having recently teamed up with Tiësto himself for forthcoming stomper, we can be sure the Melbourne trio will pop back later, but until then it's time for the lovely lanky Calvin Harris to drum up a storm. Current single 'Ready For The Weekend' can be heard pumping out of car windows right across London and with former number 1 'I'm Not Alone' being put into action by Madonna no less at her O2 gig last month, we're almost more exciting about Calvin than the headline act. Let's hope there's someone famous swanning about backstage for a bit of Jam TV.
Tickets are £36 (plus ridiculous booking fee) and still available to buy at ticketline. However we've got a sneaky pair to give away - just email firstname.lastname@example.org with Tiësto as your subject and tell us your favourite summer dance hit. 18+ only please. We'll pick a winner at random on Wednesday.
