Summer of Local Love: Kids Company Fair on Hackney Downs

1007.kids.jpg The droopy economy has done a done a lot to perk up local loving this year. Staycationers are keeping busy spreading the local love by organising and attending fairs, fetes, festivals and fiestas all over the capital. This weekend sees a bit of a knees up on Hackney Downs in aid of Kids Company.

In case there are any of you out there who haven't heard of London's very own angel, you can read our interview with Camilla Batmangeilidjh, the charity's founder, here. Kids Company is a truly astonishing organisation which really does turn lives around.

This Saturday and Sunday Irvin Leisure have put together a traditional package of jolly music, rides, games and sticky comestibles: admission is just £1.00, which is ludicrously cheap, and all the activities are subsidised too. What's not to like?

The fair runs from 12 noon til 8pm both days. With a hey and ho and a Hack-non-ney no!
