Book Preview: Lovely Little Places

Prefabricated history, that's what this is all about. A new book chronicling the highs and lows of prefab living in Epping in the 40s, 50s and 60s. Author Jenny Coumbe developed the idea after digging up a bit of prefab debris in her back garden. Personally Londonist has always been intrigued by the idea of capsulated living (although that might just be 'cos we're so messy). There are still a few prefab premises around London, some with conservation orders on them. We must confess that we haven't actually got hold of our copy of this little tome yet, but we have read snippets, and it's fascinating. You can buy it here. (Image/DICKSDAILY)
